These are outstanding snow chains. The Easy SPORT clips onto two wheel bolt mounted studs, providing much better reliability and safety than systems that only clip to a single wheel bolt stud. It’s cheaper than the standard SPORT, and shares the same D-shaped Nirosta stainless steel links and ability to be resized by at least 220mm, with all parts available as spares, making it outstanding long term value.
If you don't like the idea of travelling around with a pre-fitted hub kit, then this Easy SPORT should be your "Best snow chains on the market"; if you don't mind the hub kit then our advice is to buy a standard SPORT.
Spikes-Spider Easy SPORT - size SPES3 to fit your Renault Master L4 (ELWB) H2 (high roof) (2010 to 2024) with 195/75-16 tyres The Spikes-Spider ‘Easy SPORT’ is a development of the SPORT; the SPORT is widely acknowledged to be the most complete snow chain system available – fastest to fit and remove, suitable for limited clearances (both behind and above the wheel), resizable, rust free, and of course with outstanding performance. The Easy SPORT has all the same features but, instead of being attached to a pre-fitted hub plate, it's fitted to two unobtrusive fix clips. There are only 4 different sizes and, with at least 220mm of adjustability, there’s a good chance that you’ll be able to take these chains from vehicle to vehicle, making them exceptional long term value. Unlike any other chain system, all Spikes-Spider parts are available as spare parts, and worn components are easily replaced. We want to emphasise two aspects of Spikes-Spider Easy chains that really make a difference when compared to competitor chains. The first is reliability, which means safety, which is where the Spikes-Spider twin fix-clip system is really important. The weakness of all the other brands of ladder track chain is the single wheel bolt fix-clip fixing (the Swiss manufacturer of Spikes-Spider created this whole product group and patented the use of more than one fix-clip fixing point) – it stands to reason that two or more fixings are fundamentally stronger than one. The second is a relatively minor matter, but one that matters in real life usage; it's to do with user friendliness. Spikes-Spider SPORT chains are always rust free. The chain links are made from D-section Nirosta stainless steel, a stainless steel developed for use in salt water. If you’ve used any other snow chains you’ll know that, unless you are very scrupulous about washing and drying your chains after every use - which rarely happens in real life - the shiny rust proofing coating will soon be ground off by tarmac and then they always rust – so you’ll get rust on your hands and, if you're not very careful, you'll get rust on your clothes. Product summary:
Summary: The Easy SPORT is not in fact quite as quick or easy to fit as the SPORT, but you don't need a pre-fitted hub plate. The Easy SPORT is cheaper than the SPORT, and for sure the Easy SPORT is a better all round chain than any of its competitors. We're so confident about Easy SPORT that we'll even exchange used Easy SPORT for any other brand of ladder track chain that we sell! (We also sell Maggi TRAK and Thule K-Summit; the usual terms of our 90 day exchange scheme will apply.) |

There are two parts to our snow chains offer this year: (1) Clearance prices on many top branded snow chains, including RUD and Thule - an amazing opportunity for those who are quick off the mark! Thule (who are the biggest brand in the car racks market) have sold their snow chains division; the same chains are now being sold under the König brand. Thule branded chains have the same specifications as the König branded versions - all that has changed is the name on the chain and the name on the box. (2) Multibuy discounts - significant discounts if you buy two pairs of snow chains at the same time, or one pair of chains and one pair of AutoSock: If you do either of these things, we will discount the snow chains as follows:
As usual, you change the quantities in the Shopping Basket. Many customers will, for example, use snow chains on their driving wheels for Alpine use, and use AutoSock on the non-driving wheels, especially if these are the steering wheels. Also note that AutoSock work very well in very wet snow, even on slush, where snowchains are often not suitable because they can't get any grip in the snow. So having both AutoSock and snowchains makes sense from at least two different perspectives. |
ResizingThere is a minimum of 220mm of size adjustment on the smallest SPORT chain, so the larger sizes have even more resizing potential. You resize by unhooking the chain and moving it to the next hole, 1cm away. It takes only a few seconds for each link. 1Hold the link firmly 2Move it through 90°, swivel it to the vertical and push it down to remove it from the hole 3Move it to the adjoining hole and lift to pull it through 4Swivel it back to the horizontal and rotate 90°. Job done. It's important to generally make the same changes to each quarter of the chain, but if the fine adjustment means that you need to adjust one pair of links only, i.e. lengthen or shorten one quarter only, no worries. Optimum size:This depends on which type of SPORT you are using: Easy SportThe chains need to be loose enough for you to slide four fingers between the chain and the wheel. SportThe chains need to be loose enough for you to slide one whole hand between the chain and the wheel. |
